The Halp Network presents: The Halp Network Entertainment Academy XP!

THNEA XP events are designed to bring people closer together by sharing each other’s experiences, allowing us to gain a greater understanding of our industry and our communities. Each event features a panel of professionals from the entertainment industry, held outdoors at the beautiful Beer Garden at Lawless Brewing Co. in North Hollywood, CA.

 

Join us for a night with audio engineers BriElle Achterhof, Gabby Dahlen, Matt Kulewicz, and Ulysses Nieto and learn about their experiences entering the biz, juggling multiple career paths, reminiscing studio stories (that aren’t under NDA), and more! Hang out with the community after the panel, make some friends, and catch up with some familiar faces!

 

  • Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks can be purchased, if desired, separately at the bar located inside the Lawless taproom.
  • Food can be purchased, if desired, separately at the partnered local vendor (varies day to day) located just outside the Beer Garden.
  • Street parking is available.

 

The outdoor space is rented out privately for the duration of the panel, and ticket sales help to cover rental costs and operations. You must purchase a ticket to enter.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR​

Speakers

BriElle Achterhof is an audio engineer with a passion for storytelling through sound. She earned her degree from Columbia College Chicago, where she immersed herself in the intricacies of audio recording, editing, designing, mixing, and mastering. Beyond her professional endeavors, BriElle is also an avid gamer. The world of video games fuels her creativity and inspires her to explore innovative ways to enhance audio experiences in interactive media. She is particularly enthusiastic about connecting audio design with storytelling to create immersive environments that resonate with players. Popular projects she has been apart of include Honkai Starrail, Genshin Impact, Octopath Traveler II, Wylde Flowers, and more!

 

Gabby Dahlen is an actor, songwriter, and audio engineer based in LA. You can catch them engineering at VoiceTrax West, or behind the mic as Nero in Secrets of the Silent Witch (Crunchyroll), Ana in A Sister’s Feud (Netflix), and in national spots like VRBO Radio. They’ve also modeled for ONE/SIZE and played Young Albert in The Civility of Albert Cashier at the Colony Theatre. Gabby is also the creator of “Booth Camp”, a collaborative space for voice actors, directors, and engineers to sharpen their skills through mock sessions. Matthew Kulewicz is a recording/mixing engineer and producer for music and broadcast TV/film sound with more than 20 years’ experience in both live stage and recording studio environments. His credits include CBS/Showtime’s Our Cartoon President, Space Jam: A New Legacy and Tiny Toon Looniversity. Since 2021, his career has focused on gaming titles such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and The Last of Us Part Two Remastered. He has worked with CAPCOM, Electronic Arts, Activision, Ubisoft, and miHoYo. Additionally, he was previously an adjunct professor at NYU where he taught critical listening and ear training for audio engineers. Kulewicz graduated with a BA in music business and audio production from SUNY Oneonta, and his master’s degree in music technology from New York University.

 

Ulysses Nieto is an audio engineer based in Los Angeles with 20 years of experience working in the entertainment industry. He received his BA in music technology from UC San Diego and is now a recording engineer at Side Global specializing in recording voice over for videogames.
