Heath Anthony Martin is a dynamic performer with over 30 years in the entertainment world, starting as an R&B singer, songwriter, and recording artist before diving into film, theater, and musical theater. His journey ultimately led him to voice acting, where his passion truly ignited. Everything he does is driven by his five incredible children—Marissa, Maranda, Marquise, Nikkiah, and DeOndre.
After a setback in the music industry, his wife suggested voice acting, and he never looked back. Mentored by legends like Steve Blum, Chuck Duran, Jess Harnell, and Rob Paulsen, Heath has learned the power of gratitude, service, and relentless self-improvement.
His diverse career includes major campaigns for brands like Burger King and Marvel, as well as iconic video game roles such as Merlin in SMITE, Solcadens in Watcher of Realms, and Headshot Hue in Jagged Alliance 3. With a passion for constant growth, Heath is always ready for the next challenge!
Not to sound cliche, but gratitude is the one thing I can’t live without on this journey. It’s a hard road and gratitude, reminds me why I never give up, it gets me through the tough parts.
I had been auditioning for SMITE with HiRez for quite some time… what felt like maybe 100 auditions over the course of a couple years. When I finally booked it, it was a feeling of extreme gratitude and accomplishment. Another thing followed that I cant speak on yet. I am also very proud to mentor young actors, show them what worked for me, as well as some pitfalls to avoid, and I was just recently asked to speak to aspiring voice actors at a conference to be announced, as well as my local voice institute of Seattle / Seattle Voice Academy.
The main takeaway for me is the community. I adore everyone I’ve come in contact with at the Halp Network. From Julia, whom I had the distinct pleasure of taking an X-Session with at VO Atlanta in 2023, then subsequent workshops and classes online. I also remember Maihan from both the X-Session and classes. She is always extremely helpful and so very kind, while also pursuing dreams of her own. I have a real soft spot for dream chasers and creatives. Melissa Grillo is one of my favorite humans, and a great friend and mentor as well. I met Melissa, friend of The Halp Network, at That’s Voiceover, Los Angeles in 2022 and she has quite literally changed my life. I could probably write a book about the impact so many have had on my journey.
Find Voice Acting much sooner… like 20 years instead of 10 years sooner haha. Learn to fall in love with the process of learning. It’s not about your voice. Improv more often. Let your giant heart stay on display, no matter who’s watching.

16 06 25Hunter McCoy (they/he) is a non-binary actor based in Los Angeles! They were born in Manassas, Virginia, and moved around a bunch as a kid, but for the most part grew up in Cary, North Carolina. Their parents called it that they'd be a performer, having put them in community plays at 4 years old, but Hunter didn't bite right away. As a lifelong gamer, they started high school thinking they were on their way to being a concept artist or a programmer.
